After a couple of crazy weeks of working I definately needed to take some time to stop and smell the roses. What better place to do this then the Flower and Garden Festival in Epcot! I look forward to this event each year. This year the festival started earlier than ever, but there was no way I was braving Easter crowds to check out the opening weekend though. Even being 2 weeks after Easter crowds were still rather large for me so I didn’t see as much I wanted to. I will be back to see more later. For now I will report on what I did see.

This year’s theme is Pirates and Princesses and the centerpiece at the entrance was just perfect! There are also topiaries of princesses and pirates all over the park. Many of the festival favorites are back again such as Minnie’s Butterfly Garden, Tink’s Fairy Garden, and the Flower Power concerts! There is also a special theme each weekend. This weekend was Art in the Garden Weekend and we saw real artists set up all around the park painting thier surroundings.
I am always amazed at what Disney can do with flowers. I wish I had a green thumb, but since I don’t it’s nice to pretend that this is my yard. The colors seemed brighter than ever this year and they really seemed to energize me. I am looking forward to getting back to the festival again to see more! If you are in the area between now and June 3 be sure to check it out and like I said slow down and take some time to smell the roses!!

UPDATE Easy as a stroll on the Boardwalk. From a reader’s point of view we should be done. From my point of view, still a few things to work on, but thanks for your patience while I took the site down and upgraded it this afternoon.

I’ve waited on this for far too long, and now it’s time for me to upgrade our version of WordPress from 1.5 to 2.1. I’ll update this post with more information as I go, but expect that there may be some down time at some point today or tonight. I’ll keep it as limited as possible, and when I’m done we’ll have a shiny new version of our blog (which should look identical but work better).
Thanks,
Chris
