[...] Report at OrlandoSentinal.com today - So it looks like the bowling alley theory reported in another post may not be so far off after all! Pleasure Island may get makeoverSusan Strother Clarke - Orlando SentinalPublished December 21, 2005 Don’t be surprised if the new year brings some changes to Disney’s Pleasure Island.I’m hearing Mouse officials are reviewing the nighttime entertainment complex with the idea of some updates. Given the competition from places like Universal’s CityWalk, that’s understandable.Among the things under consideration, I’m told, is opening a bowling alley and dropping the every-night-is-New-Year’s-Eve theme, which has been around since 1990.And, for certain, the West End stage on the Island, where a deejay is often found, is going away to make entering the island easier.Earlier this year, Disney got rid of the admission charge to the Island, replacing the $20.50 gate charge with individual covers at the clubs.
Okay Last time I'm going to spread rumors until something official happens. The latest word is that the Adventurer's Club is NOT included in the rumored tear down ! Guess we can stop making those protest signs for now. Do you think we can get Chris to bring us food anyway?

We were there in January and AD and the Comedy Warehouse were the only two clubs that were not virtually empty. They were both as full as usual. Mannequins was so empty they had the doors standing open and we walked right in, there were maybe 15 people in there. We were at Ragland Rd in Oct and while the appetizer I had at the bar was good it was $12 and about the size of a silver dollar! It sounds to me like since the current contract restaurants are doing well Disney is going to over saturate the area with them, and will eventually run into the same problem.

I am so afraid to say - this is very consistant with what we heard when we were there except the rumor mill churned that the clubs were all going too. Hmmm.. this will be one to watch wont it. (I hear the new Irish pub has good food, so at least the food will be warn when Chris gets it back to us.) Has there been less interest int he AD Club ? SO much so that it would be met with the wrecking ball without a blink?

I just read an 'updated' RUMOR about this ! The latest rumor is that in early 2006 the West End Stage, Hub Stage and all of the lakeside clubs will be torn down and the area will be repopulated with contracted restaurants. This wll leave only Mannequins, 8 Traxx, and Comey Warehouse. Get those signs ready Beci! At least Chris can keep us fed while we protest !

I heard this Rumor too ! Well what I heard was that they are taking down the West End stage and that building where the Neon Armadillo used to be. Can't remember if I heard what they're putting in there. But I DID NOT hear any mention of the Adventurer's Club going away. I would be down there with protest signs if that happened !
